Volunteer

Last Hope Doberman Rescue is always in need of volunteer help. We are a 501c3 organization, which means we work solely on donations and volunteer help. There are many ways to help and we truly appreciate any amount.

FOSTER

Become a foster parent! We are always in need of good foster homes in East Texas and in Central Texas, we pay for all vet care and can provide a crate and also food if needed.

We do not have a shelter, so the the only way we can save these animals is with the help of foster homes. Being a Doberman foster family has rewards beyond helping a Dobie in need find a new home. You get a furry companion without a lifetime commitment, or to try new companions for an existing pet. It can be the special challenge of helping an animal recover from an illness or injury, the trauma of losing a beloved owner or home, or to overcome a behavioral issue. Fostering also helps keep open spaces in shelters and rescues for new animals.

For more information on fostering please send us an email at lasthopedoberman@gmail.com

OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP

There are many roles you can assist us with if you are interested in "paws-on" volunteering. These positions are open for multiple people so that the work can be distributed without one person having to do too much. If you have ideas  to suggest  please contact us, as we are always open for help. Does your child want to hold a fundraiser and donate the proceeds to LHDR? Contact us and let us know!

Transport Coordinator

The transport coordinator would be responsible for coordinating or helping coordinate transports of the dogs, whether it's one we are taking in and needs to get to a foster, or one heading off to a new home. If you are a born leader and good at organizing then we need you!

PR Committee

Are you a social butterfly? Do you have a creative streak? LHDR needs your help! The PR Coordinator would be responsible for advertising, fundraising, grant writing, coordinating events, writing a newsletter, sending thank you notes, and just getting our name out in the community more. This is a take charge position for someone who really wants to immerse themselves in helping our organization grow.

Adoption Committee

As an adoption coordinator, you would be responsible for making sure the applications are processed correctly with screening, phone interview, home visit, and completion of adoption. We work with adopters all over Texas and part of our process includes a home visit. You would be in charge of making sure that a home visit gets done and training new volunteers on how to do a home visit.

Foster/Volunteer Coordinator

The foster coordinator would be in charge of making sure all of our fosters are prepared to foster. We want everyone to be on the same page and be comfortable and happy with fostering. Making sure the foster is set up with supplies, a vet, food, and what to expect with the dog they have, helping with any issues that may arise, and recruiting new foster and volunteer homes are some of the duties you would have. Another important aspect of this position is to make sure the bios and pictures of the dogs are kept accurate.
