ABOUT US
Last Hope Doberman Rescue pulls Dobermans from shelters across Texas, wherever the need arises. We are now able to help dogs in Michigan. We fully vet and rehabilitate these dogs and place them in foster homes across the state(s). LHDR adopts to applicants located in Texas and Michigan. Dogs located in Michigan are available for adoption in Michigan only, dogs in Texas are available to Texas residents only.
Our adoption process consists of an adoption application, reference checks, a phone interview, and a home visit, followed by a meet/greet with the dog of interest. Last Hope Doberman Rescue (LHDR) is an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit corporation. Donations made to LHDR may be tax-deductible ~ please consult your tax adviser.
Adopt
View our available dogs for adoption. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, micro chipped, heart worm tested, and vetted.
Foster
We are always in need of good foster homes in Texas! We pay for all vet care and can provide a crate and also food if needed.
OUR MISSION
The mission of Last Hope Doberman Rescue is to provide a last rescue option to shelter Dobermans when other Texas Doberman rescues are running at capacity and forced to refuse additional intakes.
LHDR also maintains informal cooperative relations with a number of other rescues. Cooperative activities include posting alerts for Dobermans in shelters, transport of Dobermans to other rescues with local veterinary treatment provided by LHDR if possible, and referral postings of adoptable Dobermans on multiple websites.

You are forever missed.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who love her and of those many Dobermans whose lives she saved. She will be missed dearly beyond words, this is a devastating blow for the Dobermans... we will continue on in her name to help them as much as we can. We love you Francine.
Jim Heath 1957-2015
Jim was a very important part of Last Hope Doberman Rescue and a very dear friend, the day we lost him still tears at our hearts. It was such a huge blow to dogs in need of rescue and to the many people who loved him.
We love you Jim, we hope you and the dobies are eating tons of cake in heaven buddy! There isn't a day that goes by that we don't think of you.
